They say when you know, you know. And when we met Rachel and Kelvin, we knew we wanted to be their photographers.
We first met these two at Alison and Dave's wedding and pretty much immediately thought to ourselves, "we REALLY hope we get to photograph them." They're beautiful people, which is obvious as soon as you look at them... but they're also beautiful people in the way you can feel almost immediately when you spend time with them. Especially after spending some time with their session at NYPL
Getting to know Rachel and Kelvin, one of the things that stood out to us most was just how intentional they are. With the things they choose, the people they surround themselves with, and especially the way they love.
That made us feel incredibly honored that they chose us, but also made us want to pay attention to everything; the way they loved on their families and this absolutely incredible group of friends that we've somehow been lucky enough to get to know and love ourselves.
And of course, their family includes Bailey. ❤️ Their beautiful dog was simply part of the day because she's part of their life, and we LOVED how freely she got to be included in everything.
Then their wedding day gave us something none of us had exactly planned for...
HEAT. 😂
Their wedding happened to fall on one of the hottest days of the year, which is a pretty big deal when you're getting married at The Foundry and its incredible outdoor spaces are such a big part of the experience.
Somehow, they made it look easy to photograph in 105º heat. And after their incredibly beautiful ceremony... they PARTIED. 😂
It was easy to photograph these two and show how great they looked on their wedding day, but it was just as easy to capture everything they felt. That's the balance we love so much about weddings.
We knew from the first time we met Rachel and Kelvin that we wanted the chance to tell this story.
We're really freaking happy we got to. ❤️
